At latitude 61°13'N, Jukka Huttunen cultivates 160 grapevines, planted in 2001, near the Olkiluoto nuclear power station in Finland. The vineyard benefits from the warmth provided by buried coolant pipes from the plant. While this is among the northernmost vineyards globally, Sabile Wine Hill in Latvia, situated at approximately 57°02'N, holds the Guinness World Record for the most northerly open-air vineyard. Covering 1.5 hectares (3.7 acres), Sabile Wine Hill features around 30 different grape varieties, with 'Zilga' being the most prevalent.
