Sweden
Sweden's wine industry has experienced significant growth since the early 2000s. The first commercial vineyards were established in 2000, including Blåhammarens Vingård near Flen, Kullabergs Vingård near Helsingborg, and Norrvikens Vingård near Båstad. By 2022, Sweden had approximately 50 commercial vineyards covering around 200 hectares. The primary grape varieties cultivated are Solaris and Rondo, both developed in Germany. Solaris, a white grape, accounts for about 80% of the plantings, while Rondo, a red grape, makes up the remainder. Sweden's wine industry has gained international attention for its innovative approaches and the unique characteristics of its wines, which benefit from the country's cooler climate and extended daylight hours.
