Denmark

Denmark's wine industry has expanded significantly since the European Union authorized commercial wine production in the country on August 1, 2000. As of 2023, there are approximately 83 commercial wineries operating across Denmark. The oldest among them is Lille Gadegård, established in 1995 on the island of Bornholm. In 2018, sparkling wines from the Dons region, located near Kolding in Southern Denmark, were granted Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) status, marking a significant recognition of the area's unique terroir and winemaking traditions.
