Finland is not officially recognized by the European Union as a wine-producing country. The nation's harsh climate limits viticulture, resulting in only a few small-scale, non-commercial vineyards. Notably, Sundom Winery, located near Vaasa at approximately 63°N latitude, cultivates Riesling, Merlot, and Chardonnay on 0.3 hectares (0.74 acres). This positioning makes it one of the world's northernmost vineyards.
